Owen Sound U9 Custom Krueger Steel North Stars Wrap Up a Gritty Provincials Weekend
The Owen Sound Krueger Custom Steel U9 North Stars capped off an exciting 2025 season with a determined showing at the OWFL Provincials this past weekend in Oakville at Shell Park.
In their semi-final matchup on Saturday afternoon, the North Stars exploded offensively, taking down Toronto Beaches in a 13-12 thriller. Logan Quaid led the scoring charge with four goals, while Grace Gunn added a hat trick. Key goals also came from Lilly Barnard, Camille Spencer, Kirby Heipel, and Tenley Scott, with solid teamwork across the board. Owen Sound’s teamwork and energy helped them battle hard for an exciting win and a well-earned spot in the championship final.
The gold medal game against the Oshawa Lady Blue Knights, the North Stars gave it everything they had in a tight back-and-forth battle, battling to the very end in a tight 13-11 loss. With Camille Spencer scoring four goals in a standout performance, while Grace Gunn followed closely with a hat trick of her own. Lilly Barnard, Chloe Andrews, and Logan Quaid each added timely goals to round out the scoring. The North Stars offensive depth and resilience were on full display, making the final a thrilling and hard-fought contest.
A special shoutout goes to goalie Addy Mitchell, who emerged as an unexpected but undeniable force between the pipes.
These fearless little North Stars ran, dodged, and laughed their way to a shiny silver medal — not bad for a bunch of 6, 7 and 8-year-olds on a mission!
