Local League is a great place for players interested in lacrosse to learn, hone and develop their skills locally. The program consists of skills/drills and inter-squad games. During the games, our local League teams are carefully constructed and rebalanced by the coaches to ensure the most even competition possible week to week.

This age chart is for Local League registration, and only for the 2026 season:
U5 - 2022/2023
U7 -2020/2021
U9 - 2018/2019
U11 - 2016/2017
U13 - 2014/2015

No! There is no residency requirement for Local League. Players participating in Local League lacrosse exclusively are able to register with any centre of their choice, regardless of where they live. No release required.
*Players looking to register for a Rep program and living outside this boundary must check with the registrar to determine if Owen Sound is their home club.

Practices will take indoors at the Bayshore Community Centre. Weekend games will be scheduled at local arenas.

SOFT LACROSSE (U5)
The OSML Soft lacrosse program introduces kids, ages 3 and 4, to lacrosse in a safe and fun environment. The program runs for 8 weeks, May 11-June 29th at the Bayshore Community Centre (indoors).

When do they play? Mondays at 5pm
Start Date: May 11th, 2026
End Date: June 29th, 2026
Location: Bayshore Community Centre
Required Equipment: Players are required to have running shoes, a lacrosse stick, helmet with face mask. Gloves are optional but recommended.
LOCAL LEAGUE (U7)
Our U7 local league takes place once per week on Tuesday nights at the Bayshore Community Centre (indoors). It runs at 5PM (2021) and 6PM (2020), starting April 27th and ending June 29th (10 weeks). Practices will consist of skills, drills and inter-squad scrimmages (modified contact).

When do they play? Tuesdays 2021’s at 5:00pm, 2020’s at 6:00PM
Start Date: April 27th, 2026
End Date: June 29th, 2026
Location: Bayshore Community Centre
Required Equipment: Players will be required to have lacrosse gloves, lacrosse stick, CSA-approved helmet with face mask, mouthguard, shoulder pads, arm and elbow guards, rib/back pads, and an athletic support cup.
local LEAGUE (U9-U15)
The OSML local league program takes place regularly once per week on Wednesday (U9) and Thursday (U11/U13) nights at the Bayshore (indoors). The programs run at 5PM starting April 27th until July 13th (12 weeks). There will also be 2-4 games scheduled in a local arena on weekends during the season. Practices will consist of skills, drills and scrimmages (modified contact). Teams are made up within the group of participants.

Teams are carefully constructed and rebalanced if required week to week to ensure the most even competition possible.
Most important, local lacrosse is a fantastic way for everyone to get – and stay – involved in our lacrosse community as players and parents alike are guaranteed to make new friends that often last a lifetime.
